The England international has been out of action since the second week of November with a calf injury but put it firmly behind her on Saturday as she struck from the edge of the box. It has been a frustrating period for Toone, who missed four Women's Super League matches as well as two England internationals against USA and Switzerland in November and December. With Euro 2025 on the horizon and United in contention in the WSL, FA Cup and League Cup, her return to action is timely.

United continued their imperious FA Cup form of the last couple of seasons with their resounding West Brom win. They reached the final of the 2022/23 competition, only to lose to Chelsea, before winning the trophy in 2023/24. Saturday's victory means they have lost just one of their last 11 ties in this tournament.
WHAT NEXT FOR TOONE?
Toone has been a little short of goals this season and will be hoping this strike gets her going in that department. The midfielder netted nine goals in all competitions last term but this was her first strike of this campaign.
