The five most impressive strikes from the group stage of Leagues Cup 2024
The 2024 Leagues Cup is well underway, with the group stage wrapping Tuesday night.
All told, 47 clubs began in the World Cup-style tournament, and only 32 teams have advanced to the knockout stages. Overall, 15 groups of three teams competed, with MLS and Liga MX sides participating.
Of the 77 matches, 45 are already complete, with some sides excelling, and others falling short. Now, with the knockouts on the horizon, GOAL takes a look at the five most impressive goals of Leagues Cup 2024's group stage.
5Alan Medina, Club Leon
What a flick-on, and what a finish from Medina. The assist is stupendous, but the finish is immaculate. Leon's Group Stage didn't quite go to plan, with a loss to the Portland Timbers on Matchday 1 and then a draw and shootout loss to the Colorado Rapids on Matchday 2, but this strike is one to remember.
The Uruguayan midfielder takes the strike so clean and the ball flies past Timbers goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau.

Bucha's goal here is clean and clinical, but more than anything, it's impactful. FCC were down 2-0 in the 78th minute, and they came back to win 4-2 on Aug. 6 to secure a spot in the knockout round. It was an utter collapse from NYCFC, but this is one hell of a finish from Bucha.
3Stephen Afrifa, Sporting Kansas City
An absolute GOLAZO from Afrifa. The Sporting winger scored this impeccable effort in their 2-1 loss to Toluca on August 6. The bar-down finish is a sound-on strike, with the whistle of the ball smacking the frame of the net and into the back of the goal.
2Jared Stroud, DC united
One of the cleanest volleys you will see this summer, Stroud scored this belter as part of a brace in a wicked 3-3 draw with Atlanta United on July 26.
