Nottingham Forest allowed a flurry of players to leave on Monday as the European and lower Football League transfer deadline passed, nearly a month after the Reds themselves finished their business.
First, Arvin Appiah left the club in an £8m move to Spanish second-tier side Almeria, which has left fans concerned over his departure.
And then a trio of fringe players were all given the green light to depart from the City Ground.
Jason Cummings joined Shrewsbury Town for an undisclosed fee whilst Liam Bridcutt and Daryl Murphy made the switch to recently saved Bolton Wanderers, who at the 11th hour finally put a squad together.
The departure of the latter has mainly caused a reaction that has left many fans debating the veteran forward.
One supporter believed the striker was unfairly criticised by some, having scored a few important goals for the club with another adding that he would have kept the 36-year-old as he offered a different dimension up front.
Murphy joined Forest in 2017 from Newcastle, signing a three-year deal and had to have his contract terminated to join the League One club.
He made 60 appearances, scoring 13 goals and recording three assists, per Transfermarkt.
Several superlatives were used to describe him including “quality” and “legend” whilst one fan brandished the decision as “daft” due to the lack of backup options to Lewis Grabban.
Here’s the best of the reaction:
